PART 1 | So the data set I choose to represent first was the HIV Death Toll by Race.  I picked a standard Bar Graph and a Stack Graph to show the data. I found that the Bar Graph showed the comparison very well because it compared the info side by side for each year. As for the Stack Graph it showed a general trend for each Race, but I didn’t quite understand the larger picture when it came to showing a comparison. Overall some data sets are shown best a certain way, and for this data set I felt that the Bar Graph did it the best to get the message and information across.

PART 2 | Back in second semester of second year I started a website where the public would be able to come and learn about the genocide in Sri Lanka and keeping up to date. There was a section in the site for users to submit their thoughts on the whole situation in Sri Lanka. I asked people to write a short paragraph of 50-150 words on how they felt about what’s happening back in Sri Lanka and how they’re coping with the genocide. People expressed their anger, sorrow, guilt, and share their feelings by showing the world what’s happening, through their eyes. So I took those voices and put it into the data set and represented them in a Wordle Graph. Looking at the overall image, one can feel that there was a shared pain and inner suffering of each user.
